Drinking water at spécifics times of the day maximizes the benefits to the human body. Find out when to drink water and the impact on your health.
We regularly hear that it is VERY VERY VERY important to drink 1.5L of water every day. However, did you know that there are times in the day when water has specifics functions on the human body?
First, it is suggested to drink water first thing in the morning. The hours we sleep give our bodies ample time to dehydrate. Also, it is found that when we are laying down, it promotes the release of toxins into the body. So, the morning glass of water helps to eliminate toxins, rehydrate the organs and also allows our digestive system to wake up.
Secondly, it is said to drink a glass of water about 30 minutes before each meal. In fact, water naturally promotes satiety, which gives us greater control over the amount of food we consume per meal. This glass of water will facilitate the digestion of the meal.
Thirdly, we can drink a glass of water before showering and / or bathing, which lowers blood pressure.
Finally, there is the last glass of water that we should take before going to bed to prevent dehydration during our long hours of sleep.
To conclude, there are, of course, several other moments in a day where it’s important to be well hydrated, during a physical activity for example. The times of the day that are mentioned in the article above are moments that maximizes the effectiveness of the water on our body, but did you notice the most awesome thing in all of this? It’s that by getting into the habit of drinking 250mL of water at each of those moments, you have already reached your recommended 1.5L of water per day! :)
